date night ...

is tonight. because of this pile, which makes me SO happy {{thanks allison!}}, some amazing new release hambly. the littles are going to nonnas for two days and i get to work on my class kits for norway. wait, let me say that again, n-o-r-w-a-y. it still makes me all giddy inside just thinking about it. =D

so all of you norwegian scrappers best be ready for some of this, some amazing SIStv goodies, some vintage elements and lots and lots of layers. i should have the classes finalized by sunday with some sneek peeks right after.

favorite moment #1

although i've already completed number 35, i decided to start at number one so all of you who want to play along can do how ever many you would like. this week my prompt was "what i know". and this picture says it all for me. that this man, who would haul bucket after bucket after bucket of ocean water, all for his children, was and is everything i could have dreamed of in a father for them.

also, i want to make it very clear that although i am challenging myself to create one favorite moment a week i know everyone is very busy, i have two little toddlers, remember. so please, don't feel like you need to do one a week, although that is the challenge i am setting for myself, just do what you can, when you want. and please link your finished los here, i would really love to see them.

favorite moment {no. 35}

on saturday, while i was working on making the projects for my classes i'll be teaching in norway in october {sneek peeks coming soon!}, the power supply on my computer died. actually, it melted. which is very, very, very sad as my computer is less than a year old. like most scrapbookers i rely heavily on it for photo rendering and printing and it's where i get 84.2% of my inspiration; SIStv, my blog list, flickr and craft books are just some of my favorite places to view.

this is extra sad creatively because i generally pick and then print my picture(s) right before i scrap them which means that i have no photo archive to use at the moment. of course that doesn't mean i have no photos printed out, because i have a pile i've printed and then changed my mind about scrapping with, as i'm sure alot of you do, right!!?!

so, i gave myself a little challenge {scrapping those photos already printed} which led me into a second challenge {my favorite moments} which led to me creating this lo {more here}. i'm challenging myself, and you, if you're interested, to scrap the favorite moments of the year, in no particular order. i am doing little snippets and memories that i want to remember about my year of being 35.

if you want to join me, and of course i hope that you do, you can do the favorite moments of your current age this year or just your favorite moments with whatever countdown number you desire. while i'd love to do this weekly, with two littles it probably isn't going to be likely however, if you do decide to play along please link here with your first finished lo as i would love to see it.

i finally got a chance to play with the new sonora high collection from SIStv. the green and yellow has really been making me reminisce about my alma mater SVHS and all of my high school friends. this however, is a altered clipboard i made to keep our "to do" list a bit more organized than it usually is. you can see more of it here as well as the mini {below} that i made for my bean-girl.

Kongeriket Norge

see that beautiful orange highlighted country? that is where i will be the first week in october, teaching at paperfest in stavanger, norway. i am beyond thrilled and counting down the days and i have mari to thank for it {thanks sweetie!!} as she got me in contact with may who invited me to come. i'll be teaching two classes and hanging out with some of the coolest scrappers around, because those norwegian girls can scrap!! so wish me luck as i've been told to expect a maximum of 100 students per class, which is just fine with me. the more the merrier!!

just perfect

i found this new site today linnet via bloesem {one of my most favorite inspiration blogs} and i just had to share because it is beautiful. it has that wonderful mix of japanese craft and minimalistic display that gets me everytime, did you know that i hoard japanese craft books and magazines like a fiend? i spent about an hour this afternoon cruising the categories  and admiring those simple and perfect photos. i've been in a bit of a slump lately due to some travel plans that i'm excited about but not quite ready to unveil. but now, i've got some real scrap mojo to work out. if anyone needs me i'll be in the garage {*ahem* studio *ahem*} cutting pasting and making pretty things.

always good

got to spend the afternoon with this girl yesterday. always good. always fun. always makes me happy. the only thing that would be better than meeting here would be if we lived on the same block. cause even though we've only known one another a few months. she gets me.

i also wanted to say thank you to everyone who has visited hers and mine. it is such a wonderful thing to be involved with someone as crazy talented as  sarah and to be able to share our photo conversation to each other with all of you. so thank you. from the bottom of both of our hearts!

hers and mine

i am so happy to announce a project that just started today between sarah and myself. we've been talking alot lately about inspiration, our favorite blogs and our mutual love of 3191. that said we decided to start our own photo blog to inspire each other to see things differently, to slow down and notice the everyday. each day we will both, independently, take a photo of someplace we have been during that day, outside of our home. we each have a different story, we both have a unique view we want to share, but we have a common bond, our friendship.

so, in honor of this new venture i am having a rak party giving away a hambly notebook and some of my favorite vintage trims and embellies including some of my vintage wallpaper stash!}. just leave me a little note between now and thursday evening telling me something about your favorite picture of all time. yours or someone else's and the winner will be announced friday morning.
