digital happiness is ....

"honeychurch" digital scrapbook kit

a few weeks ago jeanette asked if any of the fashionistas were interested in designing digital kits for the brand spanking new SIStv boutique which opens today!! and i, of course, jumped at the chance. i love to design. always have. it's the reason why i adore vintage clothing. the reason why i love mid century mod. the reason why i swoon anytime i come across a piece of vintage wallpaper on one of my treasure hunts. and of course, the reason why i started scrapbooking in the first place.

scrapbooking lets me design a visual marker of my existence. my way, my style, with my favorite items. it doesn't matter to me whether they are manufactured for scrapbooking or they are old precious discarded items; when i use them it is because i fell in love with them. so, being able to design product that hopefully {hopefully!!} is appreciated by others, used and loved by others, as they record their history makes me very happy. grateful. blessed and happy. plus, playing around with digi is fun!

i need to make a list. a BIG list. bc i have alot to do in the next few days and my little boy decided this would be a great time to get croup. what you say?? yes. croup. i have swaps to finish. i have packages to mail. i have kits to finish kitting. i have something exciting for SIStv to reveal on monday when the new boutique goes live. but all i want to do is hold and cuddle my boy and play ponies with my girl and make new blog banners with favorite quotes like the one above.

oh. and don't you just love it when you read on a favorite blog that someone has a secret to share? but they won't tell you. yea, it's currently 1:13 am on thursday and i have some exciting news to share later next month. good news. fun news. one of my fun dreams coming true news.

favorite moment {no 4}

this lo {for my fm challenges and lss challenge 1} is what i did last night; 8 transparency's on one lo. and it all started with the large 8.5 x 11 picture that i printed on some transparency film i had lying around. it was a technique i've been wanting to do for a while, and being able to incorporate some of the hambly samples that allison sent me earlier in the month was an added bonus. it looks exactly the way i envisioned it would. now i need another shadow box for our walls.

i adore this picture of my girl in her tulle skirt at ballet. i could {and probably will} scrap this picture for the rest of my life in 50 million different ways. all because i adore the flood of memories it produces in my heart. memories of my girl prancing around with her little ballet friends. pretending to be swans. tossing scarves into the air. practicing at the bar. dancing and giggling and smiling. perfect memories.

norway sneek peek {no.2}

just a little sneek peek of class #2 for norway. all of the product has arrived on my doorstep {hambly, jenni bowlin, vintage goodies} which means i will be spending lots of time kitting this weekend.

i just saw this on the hambly blog and i am in love. a thick clear overlay that you can cut yourself. let me say that again... you can cut it yourself. for minis. for los. for projects. my mind is spinning and i cannot wait to get my little hands all over some of it!

just been busy

just a little peek at the kit for class #2 i'll be teaching in norway. i have 15 days until i leave and i was really hoping these would be shipped by now but i'm still waiting for one element to arrive so it looks like i'll have 2 suitcases instead. one with kits, one with clothes and stuff. due to the craziness that has encompassed my life the past week my favorite moments lo was never completed as any spare time has been spent resting as i fight off the first round of new school year sniffles {mine as well as the littles}, prepping and finalizing product for my classes and playing. apparently i just need to concentrate on living this week.

also, mari nominated me for a nice matters award which i just think is SO sweet. thanks mari! and i'm just going to nominate anyone who comes here and leaves a message or just reads my rambles. i appreciate all of your good words and thoughts too!

6 years and {still} i remember

a collection of photographs of those lost on sept 11 2001

it still gives me the chills, seeing pictures of that horrible tragic day, six years ago. sometimes it is SO impossible to believe now, that it happened. that all of those marvelous souls above were lost because of 19 wicked people. and yet it did. and so i remember. always.

favorite moment #3

last night i started writing down on a seperate piece of paper everything that mike {hubbie} and i did during the day, sort of a he said she said type of account because there are times {when i'm stressed or need a break...} when i think that because i'm the sahm and i'm the one resonsible for our children on a daily basis i've got it harder.

so this layout {you can see more detailed pics here} is a subtle reminder to me, a line by line detailed account, of just how hard mike works and how dedicated he is to our family, school and work. in that order.

also, i am not truly happy with how my journaling looks but it's a record of me {on this day} too, so i kept it. because life isn't perfect and i wanted this lo to be a time capsule. and because it is a snapshot of sorts i decided to do it without a picture, because it's about what we did on this day.
