my soldering webisode tutorial is up at SIStv and seriously, could i not shake any harder in that film?? rofl. i was SO nervous and all of the f-girls were watching. plus jj & kiki & bob and the three film guys and diane and her dog. you're just going to have to go watch. cause it's funny as hell. FUN-ny!!
but i'm SO proud. because jj & bob made it look great, my voice still sounds calm and i remember this moment exactly. this moment when jj asked if i had taken my medication that morning... just a simple comment that was meant to make me feel more relaxed. watching the webi this morning brought back such wonderful memories of our f-girl weekend at cha.
edit : i received a very thoughtful email yesterday with reagrds to my previous post. i was in no way "making fun" of parkinson's, which i know is a very debilitaing disease and i apologize wholeheartedly to anyone it offended and have respectfully changed the title of this post.
happy webisode wednesday!!
xoxo

my new wreath for the front door {more views at SIStv}. totally inspired by this picture from pottery barn and made out of book pages, basic grey's xmas line from last year, some hambly transparencies, alpha playing cards and some ac thickers. i'm SO happy with it. partly because i've been wanting to make it for about 3 months and partly because when i got half way i couldn't figure out how to get all those pages connected securely enough to hang {i used a wire wreath form underneath}.

and i am. grateful for family. friends and my health. grateful that i live here in the states and get anything my family needs. grateful for the experiences and opportunities with this craft that have come my way this year. and grateful for you, dear friend. because you come here and read my thoughts. view what i make with my hands and encourage me to do more of all of the above.
the little mini above was made this morning {after the turkey went into the oven but in between bastings} with the new hambly heavy overlays {front & cover} and other hambly papers/overlays that were die cut at my local lss. we'll be starting a new tradition this year as i plan to put pictures from today and have everyone to write what they are thankful for on vintage postcards i attached for journaling spots. i'll link it in my SIS gallery after it's filled.
happy thanksgiving!!

that is apparently what it costs for an appendectomy {and other things i shall keep private} these days. which of course doesn't include my surgeons fees, the anesthesia fees, the emergency room fees or fees for the two cat scans that were ordered when apparently a sonogram would have showed i was bleeding internally. all of which we still haven't received bills for. or i should say, we haven't received bills for yet. dude.
edit : we DO have insurance so please don't feel we are bankrupt now. however, i am still shocked at the price of heathcare here in the us. shocked. and so grateful we have insurance because there are alot who do not.
thank goodness tomorrow is thanksgiving. and please, excuse my post the other day about skipping over thanksgiving and getting right straight into christmas. because then i read this on rebecca sowers blog and it really put everything back into perspective. i've also been reading eat, pray, love {you need to get this book if you haven't already} and they both have me thinking hard about what i need to do in my life. which is connect. with family and friends. with daily life. with my chores. with my inner voice.
but more on that after i enjoy setting the table for tomorrow. because even though it will only be us four and my mother i'm feeling a real need for a feast and all the visual garnishment i can muster.
happy wednesday.

happy birthday g. you deserve all the riches life has to offer. thank you. for being my friend. for being there for me, even though there are a bazillion other states in between our homes, and feeding my family for a week. thank you for inspiring me, for making me want to make things. thank you for the laughter in between all the glitter dust, and the endless starbucks coffees. love ya!!!

turkey day decorations, that is. i have some beautiful rustic thanksgiving decor that i usually can't wait to get out. but this year i just don't feel like it. which i'm okay with. just. this. once. so i decided to get a little glittery with a giant snowflake and some hambly and just be merry. oh how i adore bright hued holiday decorations!!
in other news i've got three new digi kits i'm finishing up on, one of which is a holiday pdf kit. just download, print and make. of course it's got lots of vintage goodies in it too! i'll let you know when it's up in the SIStv boutique.
