she's been counting down until this morning for over two weeks. 10 days until i start kindergarten. 9 days until ... 3 days... until .... this morning i heard her scream 0 DAYS!!! she is so ready for this new journey. anxious and excited and eager to learn.
and i did surprisingly well this morning too. other that feeling like i was totally unprepared to be awake at 7am, to pack her lunch, feed her breakfast and then get all of us dressed, i think i did surprisingly well. it's going to take a few days to get a routine down, that's for sure. got any tips because i am so NOT a morning person.
drop off was a breeze with her waving me out and me with hardly any tears, which was a shocker. i really thought i was going to lose it there for a minute in her class, seeing all of the little chairs and all her new classmates, but i decided to leave rather than have her see me and by the time i headed out i was good. although i've been watching the clock like a hawk all morning and i am feeling SO anxious to hear all about her first day.
add to that my countdown, which is still going ... 2 days!!!] and the fact that the information email about fridays kenner road subscription pre-sale were sent last night. if you didn't get one and signed up for the newsletter please leave a comment here or email me and i'll forward it to you. apparently for some sweet girls who live int'l the email never came through and i am a bit concerned that some of you didn't get it and i want to make sure you have the info if you are interested.
for those of you who are not signed up for the newsletter check back here friday morning for news on the pre-sale and a possible sneak peek look at the first kit.
happy wednesday.
xoxo
COFFEE is my best tip for handling tough mornings:D That means, all mornings, he he.
I'm so looking forward for your kits! Took your classes in Stavanger, and got hooked on you:) Those things we made back then still gives me lots of inspiration.
Good luck with the mornings!

I agree with the coffee. It helps gets things going. Luckily I have and early riser in my 1st grader and a late riser in my no schooler. My neighbor likes to do the pick up when he is home. But I still spend my time looking at the clock. Could you email me your newsletter. So looking forward to your kits as is Diane.

Wow, starting school... that is such a huge thing! Good for her, and good for you for getting through without the tears. My oldest is also getting ready to start school, only she's off to the University of London Union in the UK. Let's see if I can get through this change in our lives as gracefully as you made it through yours!

Proud of you!! I am a mess on the first day of school, even now with my eldest in grade 3!! Still one more to go to kinder, 2010 :(, and I am not looking forward to that!
Hint for mornings, get out of bed as soon as you wake, don't lie there it makes your day start off slugishly and find a routine that works and stick to it. That's how I do it, routine is my life savior!! The kids know it so well that it just gets done. Another tip is don't sweat the little things, the day isn't worth wrecking before it's even begun lol
PS I got my email, so that one worked :) Hugs for 2 days!!
