and spending countless hours on the couch waiting for your antibiotics to kick in {thankfully, today they did} creating with hand cut cashmere strips is the only way to go. seriously. i highly recommend it if you're sick. ;)
ben got sick last week and of course after a weekend spent kissing and loving on a newly turned 4 year old boy i was bound to get it too. ugh! and i could only stay sane after countless hours of meteor & his mighty monster trucks videos if i made something, anything.
i remember seeing a lovely scarf in an anthro catalog back in 2005 {and of course i still have all my catalogs, am i the only one who hoards them like my home companions, which i sadly learned last month is now no longer *sigh* another fab mag gone.}}
i created mine by braiding strips of felted cashmere {i always buy them at the thrift, holes or not, they're to luscious to pass up}. i made three braids and then braided the braids and tied up the ends. wrapped it up and sent off to a lovely friend. i know she's seen it now but it's a surprise.... so i'm pretty sure she still has no idea.
maybe it's you? ;)
So sorry you were sick, ick!!... so not fun!
I made a scarf too. I found a pattern in Martha Stewarts "holiday" mag. They tied knots with yarn... kinda like the old macrame plant hangers. geeesh... that brings me back! Anyways, it's a great holiday white elephant gift!

I truly feel your pain - I too started the holidays out sick. Just now feeling better - went through the antibiotics and am now on steroids. Unfortunately, a side effect of the steroids is trouble going to sleep - it is now 1:56 a.m. Today was day one and the highest dose - so hopefully, it will get better with time. Had to feel better! I hope you get better soon!

Ooh I remember this at anthro :)
Coolness!
And what pretty colors, so delightful to look at.
I can't imagine how warm this would feel!
You are so sweet and I'm sure whomever receives this beautiful scarf will LOVE it!
Hugs and lots of love,

I ADORE my Anthro catalogs. I am so bummed they won't ship to Australia, so I don't get them anymore. You should have heard me squeal when Gigi from over at Little Gi sent me three as a present. And all the Aussies I showed promptly went into mourning with me. lol
That is a gorgeous scarf. I think I need to stockpile sweaters for next winter. Even though, right now in the height of summer, I am freezing my butt off in a sweater, socks, and warm pants, and could actually use it right now. What is up with that!
