i've got this little {well... it's getting really thick actually} journal that i glue everything i'm inspired by into. magazine images, pictures, vintage items & more. often it's this book that i turn to when planning kits or layouts or when i just need to clear my head and reorganize so that i can see clearly and make something.
do any of you do this? i'm sure you do, it's not a new concept but it's one i adore doing. sitting down every few months or so and ripping sheets out of magazines to save for a rainy day... or an august kit ;)
i'm focusing on this book today and this week as i gear up for the next few months of kits. i'm organizing all of the orders i placed last week and shuffling around images in my head and on my computer as i finalize exactly how i want my little mini window displays of paper & embellishments to work together.
so this is a glimpse of my process today and you should know that august kenner road is all about this page above. **swoon** isn't it dreamy? love the color combo and that farmhouse chic vibe is just luscious with pops of blue and pink against that rough & worn caramel brown. love. love. love!!
happy monday!
xo
I do that very same thing with Christmas magazines!

Sometimes, I think the "process" is half the fun:)

I am junkie for finding out what inspires creative people and how and where they create. It makes me so happy! Thank you for sharing and I can't wait to see the gorgeous future Kenner Road kits!!

I admire those people like you who love to keep stuff that’s very inspirational. I don’t have that kind of attitude in me. I usually throw stuff after I had enough of it. That’s why I’m very impressed with this post. Thanks for posting.

I have a kit that I bought about a year ago that was meant to be put together for an inspiration journal. So far, it's just a chipboard binder with lots of tears stuffed in it. Thanks for the inspo to finally put it together!!! :0)

Totally do the same! Have you seen a Spanish mag called 'Architectural Digest' - eye candy on literally every page. LOVE LOVE LOVE the colours you've got planned for August - that pink and that turquoisey blue against the cream - as you say - "wow!". Can't wait for the 14th!!!

hey you. love that you keep inspiration journals. I put snippets into my on-going journals, and i sometimes forget why I picked something. So now I doodle them up a little, to remember. And (when I go back through) low & behold, there's usually something ELSE on the page that interests me even more. I can't figure out my own head. miss ya, cort

Yep, I do the same thing kl.....I am always tearing out pages of mags...my husband does NOT get it at all....I have stacks and stacks of torn out ads, mag pages, labels etc....that I keep for inspiration and they really do work. I love home decor the best for inspiring me to create. Thanks for a peek into your creative mind!

I've been enjoying my visit to your blog this evening. The picture on this post is one that I tore out of a magazine for inspiration, too. Made me smile to see you saved it, as well. :)
