a corner all her own

two weeks ago, during spring break {the same day that lisa had my car locked up at the thrift store} i found maddie a desk.

small. industrial. cheap.

it fits right between her bed and closet and she adores her little nook. she has piles of little things to cut and glue and sticker and collections of pens all organized just right. she sits for hours here making and then displaying everything from hand drawn rainbows to pictures of one of her bff's.

the reward for setting this all up is that the other day she showed me this little book drawing with maddie. pages of things she has created and every page is grouped by family; farm animals, insects, shapes, rainbows, etc. it's not quite done yet so she hasn't given me permission to share the inside, but once she does i will run here to share... it is too precious!

but i do have this to share, a little sneak peek of an april kr layout i finished last night. this one combines both add-ons {hen house & two-by-four} with a few bits from the main kit. i have a few more sneaks coming later tomorrow but right now i'm off to make some peet pot easter baskets thanks to lisa's fab tutorial on the kr blog this past weekend.

i've got scrapbooking, project making and all things crafty on the brain. it's been a few months since i've felt this crazy non-stop desire to create. to make. to build and experiment. to dive head full in with every piece of my soul.

yesterday while mike and the littles were at the party, and i was home coughing up a lung {still am but i'm determined to win this one with a "no sickness is gonna break me down" mentality ...lol} then when they came home and took naps i printed out about 20 pictures. looked at about 20 magazines including my old martha kids, remember those? oh those were the good magazine days *sigh*. i got out my needle and thread and hand-stitched. i made three layouts. i book marked sites where i was crazy inspired. like this, and this & this & this.

also, the new creative therapy catalyst went up yesterday {and is amazing as usual} and i'm happy i got the chance to get another favorite moment down on paper.

makin & makin & makin some more

sat down last night and whipped out three layouts during the debate. kept my ears open and my eyes on the makin. mike & i were cracking ourselves up and laughing about how we should've started the bottle of wine at the beginning of the debate as there was lots of time for sipping to the word "maverick". geesh. can ya tell it to us one more time?

for those of you wondering.... the new kenner road blog will be live this weekend and sporting some scrumptious sneak peeks of the october 15th kit. plus all of the girls have been planning some fun little inspiration posts, gi's up for monday.

this one actually has a fm#10 on it. i decided to start up my series again... i need to start recording more of the good memories. plus that hambly birdcages in red & pink is one of my new favorite papers ever.

0 days + 2

she's been counting down until this morning for over two weeks. 10 days until i start kindergarten. 9 days until ... 3 days... until .... this morning i heard her scream 0 DAYS!!! she is so ready for this new journey. anxious and excited and eager to learn.

and i did surprisingly well this morning too. other that feeling like i was totally unprepared to be awake at 7am, to pack her lunch, feed her breakfast and then get all of us dressed, i think i did surprisingly well. it's going to take a few days to get a routine down, that's for sure. got any tips because i am so NOT a morning person.

drop off was a breeze with her waving me out and me with hardly any tears, which was a shocker. i really thought i was going to lose it there for a minute in her class, seeing all of the little chairs and all her new classmates, but i decided to leave rather than have her see me and by the time i headed out i was good. although i've been watching the clock like a hawk all morning and i am feeling SO anxious to hear all about her first day.

it's thursday

i saw this man and heard his amazing voice last night. and i am falling in love {again} with his amazing music! and this song, one of my favorites, was the opening tune with a choir!! *sigh* life was good last night. and the best thing about it all was that my mom won the tickets off of our local radio station. yes. she's that person that everyone knows who wins stuff all the time. fingers of gold, just like my grandfather had.

allison and i have been working on finalizing the hambly dt and we are almost finished.

*whew*

seriously. i know some of you are probably wondering but this choosing thing is hard, hard! i mean, how do you narrow down a few hundred applications into a small rounded out team when everyone is amazing? again, it is so hard! and i'm feeling very anxious to be past the selection process so we can all start working together. cannot wait to work with the new team and so happy that it is almost august 1st.

oh. and i am SO PROUD of my gi. she scored an amazing gig with the always inspirational tarisota team. she deserves it SO much, plus about 5,000 more amazing things. please, go here and congratulate her!!

and i've been scrapping alot. alot. making beautiful pages like this with some beautiful october afternoon & more ...

and i have about 10 other pages that are stacked here that i still haven't photographed and shared. kind of nice to be focusing on the creating and the memories and thoughts and not what the end result should be. plus i'm getting everything ready for my BIG announcement. planning and ordering things and dreaming about beautiful roads... *hint*hint*. eeks. almost ready to share. almost.
