vi scrapper

so a few months ago vibeke contacted me and asked if i was interested in doing an interview for the amazing norwegian scrap magazine vi scrapper. of course i said yes, after i closed my mouth from the shock. and although i know the answers i answered i can't read the article, but i hear from mari that a translation is coming... right??!? ;D

i sent in about 10 layouts and they used all of my favorites, including two that i created for october afternoon for winter cha. see... there's becky & becca & gi & me hanging out in omaha on silver bella weekend.

and my two littles. maddies layout "i would" was created for my mmm submission last year. it still hurts a little knowing i don't have that layout, but at least it's here, and that makes me happy.

and my favorite cup of coffe, a soy flat latte.

5 kilos of goodness

arrived saturday after making a trip half way around the world... all the way from norway! oh christine and mari!! you girls have spoiled us rotten. maddie shrieked in delight when she saw the nugatti. shrieked! your sweetness and all the love i felt when i opened that box made me cry happy-i-miss-you-tears-of-joy! and the yummy vintage goodies and christmas cards and decorations... i can't wait to use them and to put the holiday decorations up next year.

norse challenge

some of my favorite norwegian scrapbookers have started a challenge blog scrappedugnad and they asked me to be their first challenger. ania, mari, ingunn and christine. when i was in norway i spent some amazing time with these girls, such incredible memories!

cropping with all of them at the folkhouse. walking to get spring rolls on the other side of town to get ingunns mind off of teaching! shopping at the norwegian version of a dollar store. old stavanger. norwegian hotel breakfasts.

i love them all to bits because they are such sweet, and amazingly talented girls. so, even though it's in norwegian, and i can't read all of it {maybe you can?? lol} please try and check them out for me and send some love over there.... they deserve it!!

norway {color}

i've been rendering alot of the shots from norway for a project i'm working on and i decided it was high time i started posting pics from the trip. on friday i hung out ALL day with ania, mari, ingunn and oddbjorg {who needs to get a blog!!}. we walked all over stavanger, but oddbjorg took us here first. one little street in town painted like a candy shoppe. there was SO much color and texture. and don't you just ♥ that sign above?

thomas dybdahl. mari and i did a little swap of goodies while i was in norway. american stuff for her. norwegian goodies for me. but i think i got the better deal because a huge cd set of this mans work was in my bag. i have been listening to him and his "october trilogy" ever since i got home. it's in the house. in the car. on my ipod. i. adore. it. and highly suggest you buy some. now!

see that? that is the 50+ women {and me, down on the floor} who took my mini book class in norway. such an amazing & fun group. perky. happy. and excited... just the way i like 'em! ok... you've all been very, very, VERY patient. the winners of my class kits are :

i hope everything went fantastically.
i most recently went to europe: london, amsterdam,prague and paris.
i loved it.

funniest winner : because i didn't know people still played with bidets!

Well, my funny travel might seem a little gross...but...my husband and I were staying at a bed and breakfast in Maine that was gorgeous! It also happened to have a bidet...which we had never seen before. We totally were playing with it like little kids...until we realized that if you turned it on too high it would hit the ceiling!! We are such dorks! :)

happy birthday to you. happy birthday to you! happy birthday sweet mari..... happy birthday to you!! i know it's not as sweet a song as the norwegian version, but i am sending all the good wishes, hopes and dreams i can muster from over 5000 miles away. i hope the next year is everything you desire sweet friend!! xoxo

in other news... i'm home. i've been home for three days and yet it feels like yesterday & forever-and-a-day since i was in norway. i was going through pics from my camera and crying because they took care of me. they all made me feel like family, like a sister, like i had always belonged there, with all of them, in norway. my friend becca summed it up perfectly the other day when i was trying to describe to the fashionistas how i was feeling the day after i got home. "...you look forward to it for so long and then it's here and gone in a heartbeat and then you have your memories but your heart just aches to be near them again?" yes. yes, yes and yes!

i have so many thoughts rolling around in my head right now so forgive me if it takes me a while to show you everything because i feel like words cannot justify what this trip meant to me. how it has changed me, which may seem like a cliche to some, but it is true.

i am so full of inspiration and energy right now. lisa is coming over for a play day today, i have two raks to finalize {tomorrow girls, promise!!} i bought loads of new stuff at SIStv yesterday, i have a secret to announce in a few weeks {hee hee} so.... my heart is full and i am SO so so so grateful to be here; feeling, loving and living.

this is what the lucky norwegian scrappers got to make with me today. yes, by the time this posts on here the classes will be over and i will be relaxing with mari, scrapping. well.. actually when this is posted i will probably be asleep. it is a 9 hour difference, lol. i promise to show more pics once i get home....

favorite moment {no 4}

this lo {for my fm challenges and lss challenge 1} is what i did last night; 8 transparency's on one lo. and it all started with the large 8.5 x 11 picture that i printed on some transparency film i had lying around. it was a technique i've been wanting to do for a while, and being able to incorporate some of the hambly samples that allison sent me earlier in the month was an added bonus. it looks exactly the way i envisioned it would. now i need another shadow box for our walls.

i adore this picture of my girl in her tulle skirt at ballet. i could {and probably will} scrap this picture for the rest of my life in 50 million different ways. all because i adore the flood of memories it produces in my heart. memories of my girl prancing around with her little ballet friends. pretending to be swans. tossing scarves into the air. practicing at the bar. dancing and giggling and smiling. perfect memories.
