my trip to sugarville

i think this is my favorite from this month. simple and sweet. the picture was printed right onto the kraft paper and the glittered dress was made with the packaging that the little crochet flowers come on.

i wanted to keep this one really simple due to those bright backgrounds. love how they look on the glitter paper.

i was looking for some older shots of maddie and came across this one from when she turned two. those little raggies have been her best friends and comfort since she was a baby. we used to play this game where she would be covered from head to toe and then run around until they fell off of her. i think i need to do a second page about this....

 

and these pics, from silver bella last year when becky, gi, becca and i shopped and played have been waiting for a while too. the base is quite textured, i'll try and get a detail shot of it too.

i've got a few more projects i created with the sugarville and peppermint fields kits that will be taught in the kenner road 'joyeux noel' holiday class starting december 1st. sneak peeks coming monday. :)

a flock o turkeys ...

... run wild in our neighborhood; 17 wild turkeys. or maybe i should say they run wild in their neighborhood since this was a christmas tree farm and they used to rule their fields. the past few mornings we've woken up to this site as they slowly stroll down the block. maybe i shouldn't tell them that it's getting close to fall.... which means thanksgiving is just a few months away? run turkeys, run!!

and now ... some completely random talk ....

1. maddie has taken to reading the first page of every chapter we read in ivy & bean 3. she adores these books and other than the big words she has completely surprised me. i had no idea she was soaking in so much. makes me so proud.

2. ben has discovered the art of the temper tantrum. he won't ask for help with anything. ever. and don't even think about offering because he "MUST DO IT ON MY OWN". which inevitably results in screaming, a throwing of whatever toy he couldn't fixorganizedeconstructpullapartreach you get the idea. gotta get the camera during the next one and document. definitely.

3. mike is sort of feeling better. under doctors care and hopefully on the other side of the icks really soon. thank you SO much for the sweet emails and comments. your support always amazes & comforts me.

4. the website is practically finished, which makes me giddy with excitement. can i get a wOO hOO!! i have put in so much design work on it and mike is doing all of the back end programming and i cannot wait for the big reveal. i am proud of my work, excited for the future and bursting with inspiration because there is so much more than the monthly kits waiting for you. and even more will be rolled out after the grand opening, but i'm not quite ready for those reveals yet. :)

5. i won a contest at heros arts and completely forgot i had entered, with this sweet mini. how's that for a fun surprise?

6. the kindergarten pile up of maddie's weekly work, art work and more is slowly killing me. i have an idea about how to document and organize it all so i'm thinking a little project tutorial is coming soon.

7. i know.... the list is getting long but i feel like i haven't blogged for ages. stay with me. :)

8. i'm thinking of teaching another online class. i have a few ideas brewing {holiday based} but i'd love some input on what you would like to see because i know what i like to teach and i'd love to hear if we're on the same page or not. and, is online teaching still desirable to you?

9. i'm teaching at suzy's big event in november {sunday} and again in december on the 5th {two holiday themed classes}. i'll also be at her store on the 21st of this month for the anniversary crop. hope i'll see you there!

10. next week i'll be sharing some sneak peeks of the september kenner road kit. it is ALL here and ready. also, i've received alot of emails inquiring about future subscriptions. yes, there will be subscriptions for sale on the 15th, but they will start you with the october kit. if you want the septemebr kit you will need to purchase that separately. email me if you need more detailed info on how subscriptions work.

frameworks : online class

this is just a snippet of the next online class i'm going to teach starting on march 17th called frameworks. the basis for the class is layering; how i do it, where i start, how i decide on what to use, etc. but that is just the framework for the class because it will be so much more than that. i'll show you the three techniques i love using when i create right now as well as some of my favorite tips and tricks for making those piles look like more than a scattering of old junk.
