i've been going through my manila file i store pictures that i've already printed and scrapping. just making things with the photo memories that are already printed. in the past i've spent hours sometimes looking for the "perfect" picture to scrap. the one that matches the paper and elements i have to use. it took a little of the creative fun out of scrapping... if you know what i mean?
the pumpkin harvest pictures i used in this harvest mini {see more here} were sitting in that file, printed and ready since last november. definitely need to concentrate on scrapping for the right reasons, because i want to record the memories my pictures help show and because it's fun. creating for manufacturers i design for with product i believe in is fun too, but not if its the only time i scrap. so i'm declaring right now that i will make more time for creating for me too. this is just the start of a new year people! :)
this sweet little mini was made with a hero arts big owl stamp i borrowed from daniela during the crop after my workshops at pmp last month. i just stamped the image about 10 times on a piece of kraft bazzill and then cut them out. adhered some of the beautiful ki memories bloom paper {omg! i love that line!!} to the back, distressed and embellished like mad. makes me incredibly happy seeing the littles pick it up {i store all our mini books in a giant bowl on the dining room table}, look through it and talk about the day we spent at adobe farms last october, our favorite local pumpkin patch.
this is what scrapping is all about to me. memories. family. connections.
happy wednesday!
