I have a little mini tutorial up on the JBS blog today explaining how I made the ruffled seam binding border in my vintage goods layout from the November gallery, seen above. Come say hi.
Happy Tuesday!

i'm loving the december jbs mercantile kit, which is available right now. such lovely muted colors. i had high hopes of sewing on a few more layouts but alas my beatrice {aka : my machine} is dead. sigh. sob. sigh.
i am loving the sC notions flowers. such a simple little embellishment but so cute when squished and stacked with some punched cardstock, dontcha think?
and how cool is it to see my little initials "kL" right above on that paper. just perfect.
banners, staples & hand stitching makes me giddy.
but not as much as finally getting a chance to scrap these pics of our besties birthday party last summer. face painting is so cool. even for mamas.
and another squished notion flower, with a wound twine center. cute yes?
so... have you been enabled enough? got get one.
happy december first!
bring on the trees & cocoa & glitter & snow trips & holiday cheer!

The november jenni bowlin kits are on sale & the dt gallery is live and I am, as always, so impressed with the dt's work. The cabinet card framed flag photo in the layout above was completely inspired by betsy's sewing bobbin photo frames {at the bottom of her gallery, i got a peek of them last week}. Such a brilliant idea and it added such a cute accent to this page about how for me, thrifting win's over mall shopping, anyday.
This is my side of our extended {silly} family. we have always taken a group photo every year {smiling and acting like normal people} but three years ago i decided we needed to add a silly shot. it's really a more honest snapshot of my fam and i am so grateful we've been doing it ever since.
and, we also have a new forum over at jbs, make sure you head over and say hi!
happy monday!

just wanted to share some of our halloween decor on this fun day. the kids are SO excited to get out trick or treating tonight after we hit a neighbor's house for a pre-candy spree party.
we had a party on friday night with all of our adult friends and can you believe i completely forgot to take any pics other than a few on my phone. doh! guess that means i was having way to much fun to worry about pulling out that big black monster camera.
i know a few of our friends snapped a few pics though, so i'll post some when i get some copies. ;)
i also realized, when my friend gingie made a comment on my facebook page {after seeing a preview of our decor on friday} that i hadn't shown the 7gypsies receipt holder i had created with tons of halloween scraps and the remnants of my jbs halloween kit from oct. all of the cards were created with scraps that i keep in a box marked "halloween". i just pull it out each year and find i reuse alot of the left overs from the years before. some of these pieces were from last year's kR halloween kit too.
hope you have a wonderful night!
